I like the vent with the exception that it uses only halogen lights-they are so friggin hot! When standing over a hot cooktop, having hot lights beat down on your head is a real drawback. It does move the air well and works as designed.

Disclaimer: I bought this Range Hood through a third party (Home Depot), so part of my review may just apply to the delivery from Home Depot and not directly to GE. I bought the range along with other appliances. It took me a few weeks to finally have all the appliances delivered and schedule an appointment for my favorite Electric guys to stop by and install the stuff. Surprise - the range came out of the box with no control panel/buttons in the front, and one corner clearly had suffered some bump down the road. I contacted GE, which quickly sent someone to have the control/buttons issue fixed. Kudos to them: their response was very quick, and the range was finally ready for installation. I finally installed the hood and it's working fine, with one additional screw to fix the corner-bump issue. Beware of where you get this from. Home Depot was a total disaster, and I spent one hour at the store just to convince them that the item was defective - had to reopen the box and show the missing control panel etc. My fault I didn't open up the box immediately after delivery... as if I'm supposed to know what can or cannot be wrong with a standard appliance. In essence: works OK, thanks to GE for their prompt response and more work to do with their partners to make sure their appliances are delivered in working conditions.
