While this microwave works well with respected touch pad selections, I feel there is a serious design flaw with the fort opening down. Difficult to reach over door to place in or take out food from the microwave. Particularly a problem when placed over a matching wall oven. Another design flaw is the eco LED light mode. Very difficult to see the panel lights, and at certain angles they disappear altogether. This could be solved by brig able to turn off the eco mod. Unfortunately you cannot!

We purchased a new home that came with all Bosch appliances. I dislike all of them, but this microwave has been the worst. It started sparking 3 months ago (the unit just over 2 years old). Bosch Customer Service is a joke. No one will take ownership and we keep getting passed around from cusomer service agent to customer service agent. Do not waste your money on this microwave!

I needed a specific size microwave oven and this was the only one that fit. I have two complaints: 1) the sound of the timer is too soft to hear and 2) the wattage is under 1000 and many of the foods I want to heat or cook require or request you use a microwave with over 1000 w. Some go as far as to say in their instructions "Do not cook in a microwave under 1000 w. Well, I just cook it longer and hope for the best. Otherwise it works just fine and the Bosch Customer Service was marvelous.

We don't do much cooking in our microwave and use it primarily for reheating. Definitely have to put items in for more time and at a higher power to achieve desired results. The display is very dim when not being used. You cannot even see the clock unless you are standing directly in front of it. I had read this before I bought the microwave, but it is disappointing nevertheless.

Bought all Bosch appliances with our new build last summer for the quality. The microwave functions fine, but I have 2 big complaints. 1) The door should have a side hinge option - it's too hard to get foods in and out above the stove witht he door opening the way it does. It really is a safety issue. 2) The dimming issue drives me nuts. Doesn't matter if you set it to bright, it dims within 30 minutes later. Have had the control panel replaced - made no difference. Was told it's supposed to go to sleep and then wake up when you open the door or press a button - wrong - that doesn't work. The above issues are even more of a problem for my elderly mother-in-law who lives with us. Would not have bought this model had I known what I know now.
