With Covid slowdowns and distribution delays we waited over 6 weeks for our new GE Profile Series microwave oven. The trim kit will be another 3 months but we were very anxious to experiment with our new oven - a real gem!

I have had my GE PEB9159DJ1WW since July 2017, not even 5 yrs old yet and it just stopped working 2 days ago. The light still comes on and there is noise but the turntable won’t move and nothing is heating up. My previous GE worked fine and we only changed it because of a kitchen remodel, we had it for over 23 yrs and never had any problems.

This microwave has a moisture problem. When cooking products on the range that generate steam, the microwave makes a very loud noise when starting. This noise is like a firecracker going off a couple of feet from your head. GE's solution is to run the fan before starting the microwave. Of course, the fan is very loud. They won't take the microwave back or try to fix it.
