So, our old (20+ years) Amana microwave died, and we opted for the GE Profile. We also purchased the trim kit (a little pricey, but does the job). The GE is getting the job done and definitely heats things up more quickly than our old one! Overall, we're happy with our purchase -- hopefully it lasts as long as our old one. PROs: * Tempered glass face on controls -- WAY easier than having to depress sensors covered by plastic. * Nice 'auto' functions - we haven't used all of the options, but those that we have work great. * The quick start for 1-6 minutes is also really handy. * The "MUTE" option is awesome!! CONs: As the title of my review suggests, there is room for improvement. * The latch to open the unit just makes the unit seem cheap. It's hard to press & actually makes a lot of noise when depressed. A handle with a pressure bar for opening would be more solid, make less noise, and work better with the aesthetic of the "Profile" series. * The door makes a LOT of noise when closing. There doesn't seem to be any way to close it without making a loud 'bang'. Some better (softer?) lining either on the door or the frame would make that a lot less noisy.

The trim kit could have been a 1/2 larger to cover the trim kit of the old microwave. It’s much hotter than the old one. The trim kit is all bumpy and as it bent when installer installed it

We used our previous GE microwave for 4 years. This is to be a direct replacement. On third try, received correct trim kit. Unboxed microwave for installation & corner is bent at power cord exit. Works when plugged in. We installed anyway. We really like the microwave. Hopefully, last more than 4 years.
