We live in a small condo. This unit is in a small closet in the hall. We bought it for the small size. It is just the two of us so we didn't need anything large. It works great. I love the see thru lid and the fact it has no inside agitator, it makes it so much easier to get clothes in and out. Reviews say it it's loud and it is, but truly no louder than our old machine so it really doesn't bother us. I am very happy with this machine
