We purchased this refrigerator about 3 years ago. We were so excited to get it installed. I noticed about 6 months later occasionally the ice maker would quit working. Ice would build up in the part of the ice maker were it spins to push the ice out. The inside door to the ice maker has a troubleshooting sticker and after following those instructions, the ice maker would work. Well, that continues to happen several times a year and now, beginning earlier this year, at least a couple times a week, when you open the doors, no lights come on. The only thing to correct the problem is to pull the fridge away from the wall and unplug it and wait a few minutes and plug it back in. Now, just a couple days ago, the ice maker quit working. DO NOT BUY THIS EXPENSIVE PIECE OF JUNK. Definitely one of the most disappointing purchases ever made. After speaking with the nice and apologetic lady with the Kitchenaid helpline, she said that I will have to call someone out. What is most frustrating is that Kitchenaid knows that there is an icemaker issue. If you look at reviews on Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot, etc, everyone complains about this issue. Kitchenaid even responds! We were so excited to be replacing all of our kitchen appliances with the Matte Black equipment, but now that will not be happening.

The left door opens up against a wall that we thought was ample space to open the door up and since the ice cube maker is up on the left side of the door we have only six inches in which to our our hands imto he frig to get things Out. Not good.

We purchased this model less than two years ago. It no longer produces ice, the light goes on and off randomly, it shuts off from time to time, yep quits running, makes weird noises at times, sometimes keeps things frozen and sometimes doesn’t. It’s like the old car Christine if anyone remembers that movie. All that I could probably get around if Kitchenaid, had any costumer service at all. The first time I got in contact with somebody they were uncaring and rude. The second person I talked was awesome, said yep we’ll get someone out there right away and take care of you. Well today over a week later they come out. They don’t fix anything, charge us $70 and want the cost of what I can buy a new fridge with in repairs!!! What kind of shenanigans are going on here? You’re telling me your top of the line refrigerator is only good for a year and a half? I could of went around the neighborhood, picked one out of the garbage that would do better than that. Our whole kitchen is kitchenaid appliances and I’ll be darn if I ever by anything from this company again with the way we’ve been treated and the way they stand behind their product. This was the first review I’ve ever written bashing a product or a company, but I am completely and utterly appalled.
