We purchased this because we weren’t ready to do major demo. Our existing cooktop is downdraft and the choices were limited. We purchased other appliances through KitcheAid so decided to go with them. We were however disappointed to see that the cooktop does not sit flush on our countertop something they could have disclosed before purchase. There is a quarter inch gap allowing food and fluids to seep through. Also the downdraft feature is very poor and unless you are using the burner closest to the vent, it’s useless. My opinion this was an overpriced low quality purchase.

I purchased this cooktop to replace an old Kitchenaid cooktop a couple of weeks ago. The burners are already showing a discoloration that seems to be below the glass surface, not burnt on food. The ultra heat burners are difficult to control heat and are too hot, damaging my cookware.

I have owned this cooktop for 4 years. It cooks quickly and efficiently. The downdraft does work very well. The only problem is cosmetic. The metal air grill is constructed poorly and the paint started chipping off that first year. It was only a small chip the first year, but a huge chip just came off at year 4. And I haven't ever used harsh chemicals or rubbed the grill vigorously when I cleaned it.
