Get rid of odors with charcoal
When the vent hood is installed in recirculation mode, the air is picked up and passes through multiple filters including the charcoal filter that absorbs odors. This freshened air is then pushed back into the kitchen. Over time, activated charcoal particles saturate and stop blocking off odors leaving your kitchen with strong smells.

My husband and I purchased this chimney hood when we had our kitchen remodeled. It's looks amazing in the kitchen. The led light bulb is a definite plus! My only complaint is if you select any setting other than low, it is difficult to hold a conversation without shouting. Therefore, I can not give it five starts.

Brand new out of the box and the fan motor is rubbing on the housing. It took over 2 weeks for warranty service. Shane the technician was great, as he brought a new motor with him. Once he opened the box we noticed that it was also rubbing on the housing. He said he would order 2 just to be safe. Now we wait for parts to travel from North Carolina to California. We still have not used our hood........

We purchased this hood on sale at an appliance store and installed it over our GE profile range. It's beautiful. And that's about it. As someone else mentioned, the noise is incredible; I usually turn it on low only, which is plenty loud. You can't have any kind of conversation in the kitchen at all with this hood on high. Now, for the good part...when we're cooking, AND we have it on high, I still smell whatever we're cooking, throughout the house, during the cooking AND for a couple hours after cleanup. I really don't think it's venting any cooking smells or heat out of the kitchen. I checked the fan with a piece of paper, and it does seem to suction the paper up onto itself, but why do I smell everything during and after? Anyway, I'm glad we didn't pay full price for this hood. Pretty sure I would not buy a Bosch again.
