Water filter not working properly when brand new

Overall the design of the fridge is what we wanted and it works well. For two months the water filter caused any water dispensed to taste like chemicals. After multiple calls to customer service they replaced the filter for free and we are doing better now. Concerned about what chemicals we were injecting in the meantime until it was resolved.

Only had for about 3 weeks but reasonably happy so far. Biggest issue is that when the ice maker calls for water and does its thing it is so noisy. Not just a little but practically wake up the house noisy. Otherwise the fridge is super quiet. One poorly designed feature is the water/ice dispenser in the door. You must press on the Select button also the water selection to switch from water to ice. First press is cubed ice second is crushed ice third is back to water. Very odd to have to cycle through both ice modes to get back to water. So far all of my guests have been baffled by how the dispenser even operates so that should be hint to LG that a more user friendly interface is needed there. An additional consideration is that the doors are 4 thick in contrast to our side by side which had 2 thick doors. This means the doors need more room to open and the unit has to be pulled out more from the back wall if there is a wall or cabinets on either side. Kinda defeats the purpose of a counter depth unit. Possibly changing the pivot point of the door would help so less clearance on the sides would be needed to open the doors fully. Limited configuration options for the interior shelves because of how the lock in tracks are designed. One large light bar at top and center does a good job of lighting inside fridge but could also use some light in the lower section because back of bottom shelf is a bit dark. Dual ice makers are so far keeping up with my high demand ice needs in the Florida heat. Nice rolling mechanism and pull out drawer in freezer.

This refrigerator has a lot of room. Down side is there is not a lot of space for taller items and the shelf notches are useless unless you completely remove a shelf but then you lose a lot of space. The knock screen is also useless. There is literally no need for it and the bottles in the door block the view anyway to the rest of the fridge. The stainless steel needs to be cleaned almost every night.

I purchased this LG refrigerator online at LG.com and am most appreciative of the quick service. The refrigerators best features are the wide shelves and the ice maker is enclosed in the door and does not take up any shelf space. I can also see whats inside the refrigerator by taping on the right door. The panel is black otherwise. So far we are extremely pleased with our purchase.
